Course Details:
This studio light workshop begins with an introduction to studio lighting and equipment. Jay will talk about what kind of equipment he uses as well as what other options are out there. We will then move into the hands-on lighting portion for the remainder of the workshop. During this intimate and connective workshop, we will teach you how to see the light and create simple studio setups to create visually stunning images. You will learn to maximize each setup to achieve a variety of heirloom images your clients will love.
You will be able to shoot alongside Jay to apply the concepts learned throughout the course and leave with newly acquired skills and creative new images for your portfolio.
During this course, Jay and Emily will give you guidance on:
Studio lighting equipment
favorite lighting setups
Camera settings and techniques
How to create a variety of stunning images
Image Usage:
All images taken can be used in your portfolio (website and online). Images must not be submitted to magazines, exhibitions, or competitions without permission. Images must not be used to advertise workshops or products.
Travel and Lodging:
Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging to and from the workshop. There is plenty of free parking available at the studio site.
Optional:
Join Jay and Emily and the rest of the team for dinner where we will extend the conversation from the workshop to a fun and casual evening.
What to Bring:
Camera (you MUST be able to operate in full manual mode)
Prime lens (35 or 50) OR 24-70
Notebook or phone for recording notes
*There is a minimum of attendees for the workshop to proceed. Should the minimum attendance not be met three weeks prior, the workshop will be cancelled and retainers will be refunded.*
